Description
Designed to supplement the highly flexible BarnColor system, the new BarnColor Flex provides 4 SFP slots and allows you to configure your BarnColor-Flex pairs with the signal processing SFPs needed for your unique application.
Up to four different color units can be cascaded to each other; the system supports up to 16 SFP transceiver modules on each side and allows the transport of 32 signal feeds; 16 feeds forward and 16 return. The FLEX series can be combined with any model BarnColor in different colors.
The FLEX accepts both MSA and non-MSA SFP modules*. SFP modules follow a set standard and are available from many sources, we support any SFP module which follows the standard. Barnfind and 3rd party suppliers offers a wide range of formats including:-

Barncolor FLEX is available as either 12Gb or 10Gb bandwidth versions BarnColor-4xSFP-Flex. The 12G option is capable of transmitting 10Gbit/s or 12Gb/s and is the most versatile option.
Compatibility The BarnColor devices can be installed in colored pairs or used as satellites together with a BarnOne system. If building a pure BarnColor system you can start a color-matched pair and extend the system later by adding additional colour pairs up to 4 different pairs with 32 channels. You can also add different models or use multiple of the same model in the same system. Single mode fibers are recommended but multimode fibers can be used for shorter distances up to 300 meters depending on the quality of the cable)
